    Introduction

    Hey Guys,
    Darrel here...
I have been reading with interest many of the posts on this great forum and have found myself drawn to this one manufactures products over the others.
I currently own a Hennessy Expedition and I found it remarkable for changing my perceptions and attitudes towards my sleep system .

I contacted Brandon last night with just a few pre order questions and will soon hopefully have a pair on order.

My wife and I just love getting out on the trail and are very much looking forward to experiencing our BlackBirds in all their "staked Out" glory

This is one of my very first posts on this particular board and it is my pleasure to be here and get a chance to meet
( virtually if not in person) many of the posters here.
This forum is welcoming and unlike a few of the others I have visited lately.
Kudos to the mod team for making this resource a pleasant experience. Kudos to you all for making it fun and educational.

    Cheers,
    Darrel

Welcome to HF. Keep your eyes open for more group hangs, then make your plans to join in. Then you can take the "virtual" out of meeting some of us.

    Hey Guys,
Thank you very much for the kind words of welcome, much appreciated.
We have yet to attend a hang in but will seek them out for later this season.
We are currently planning, researching and training for our very first long (90 day) section hike of the AT starting
    ~2-15-2010.
We will start in Springer and NoBo with the 90 days being our only governing restriction.
This represents a dream we have had for a very long time now.
Obviously we are seeking the most ideal gear for us
( Young 50's) and our hiking style (slow and steady).

For us it is all about the journey, time together and never about the miles.
I would welcome any and all advice on gear, training and of course mental preparedness for such a trek.
    Thanks again and in advance...

    Cheers,
    Darrel

    Hey MRH,
Thanks for the Howdy, nice to meet ya.

    pgibson,

I don't know how Brandon has any time to even get gear made I kept him on the phone for an hour and a half last night myself.
I bet he keeps very long hours. I sent him a lengthy e-mail with more then a few questions about a custom order.
    Nice to meet ya.

    Shug,

You Sir are one very talented and generous individual !

I made mention of your influence on my decision to try out the Black Bird to Brandon in my letter to him last night.
Your videos, while being a hoot are also filled with practical information, wonderful insights and obvious experience.
I would like to personally thank you for your desire, time and effort to do them .

Thanks guys for the warm welcome, very much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Darrel
