The fabric sounds like a dream come true. No idea what Argon sil I ended up ordering (it was in black), after looking at the specs I ordered a few yards of what was described as waterproof and, In the lightweight... But was priced at over $6 a yard. Hope its the 'good' stuff.
Want to try out the waterproof-ness.. Will make a great tarp extension.
i got some. it's really not the best to sew,(maybe thats just me) but looks and feels very good. while i would not make a winter tarp or one for severe weather, i have plans to make a summer aysym style with it.
good work dutch!
ps. this would be GREAT for VB clothing where abrasion resistance is not to important.
No more available on the web site as of last night! Dutch, is it all out? Ideas on when it will be back? Was just about ready to pull the trigger on enough for my first DIY tarp. Just a bit too late .

I'm preparing to inject thread into my newly arrived Camo Argon Sil! I know sil tarps stretch overnight and/or in a thunderstorm. I'm thinking about a pole mod, and just wondering how much horizontal stretch I should expect across the width of a normal doublewide tarp.
I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!
Can't really give you an exact amount of inches, but I'd say I move all my stakes back an inch or two in the morning. I made an ARGON sil tarp that's 12 1/2 by 10 feet, that's just a simple rectangle and once I used my trecking poles, one in the center of each of the long sides to raise it up and it worked kinda like having a pole mod. It really opened up the space.
Cool, thanks! I'll pan on two inches per side, or four inches across total. I thinking about, rather than having little pockets the pole ends go into, letting them extend past the edges, and then pull the edges of the tarp out to the ends of the poles using shock cord. I'm thinking this should allow adequately for the variance.
Anybody else try this? Experience or ideas? Yay? Nay?
