A friend from work and I hiked the whole Foothills trail a few years ago. Your post makes me want to get back out there again. We were hiking in the spring and it seemed like every day we would get to a spot where the guidebooks said here are some "winter views." One day I might get back there before the trees but on all the leaves and see what the views we missed were. We passed a lady walking the trail who said it was her 12th time doing the Foothills trail... Sounded like instead of family visits during the holidays she and her husband would just hit the trail!

Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
Loved that trail! My wife and I thru hiked it this year on Jan 15-19. 77 miles, 4 nights and 5 days. It was around 20 on three of the nights and one night on Round Mountain it got down to 5! I would definitely hike the trail again, thanks for sharing your story.
Thanks for sharing! I'm still working on my trip report, a buddy and I started the Foothills Trail the day after you and finished on March 27. I should have it posted soon.
