I will be leaving Pelham about 4 PM - so I'm thinking I'll be there around 6:15 ish. I'm really excited! The wife won't be joining me as she's got another endeavor sometime Saturday. I did get all my gear in so I'm set!

Yeah, I really want to be there. Wife still wants me to go, and let my son learn his lesson and stay home, but I am not sure. Will see, I guess there is a chance I may still go, but leaning towards not.

Ashley, I feel your pain. I've had to do that with my boy a time or two (and may yet still) but you are doing the right thing. I would vote with your wife as well on this. Not just to get you to a hang but to help your son understand that consequences of his behavior affect him predominantly, you only by proxy. I keep having to postpone a Linvale Gorge hang (now two years running) because of a pesky B on the boys report card.

Know that the character you exhibit to and build in your son will have it's own reward one day. Probably when he has kids and realizes you had a brain after all.

Well, one spot of good new for me: I do not have to teach that camping class tomorrow. They cancelled it until the 14th due to storms. So: if the burn gets cancelled, I could take off work on Friday and be there before noon. I will take this small victory! I am about to call my boss and beg. I hate to beg, but this time I will choose begging over the alternative.

We're dropping like flies! Guess I'll have to wait a little longer to meet you Josh. Don't know about having another hang before the Cheaha hang, but maybe so in a couple of weeks. Who knows?

I have been thinking about planning a hang at DeSoto State Park too. The park Superintendent, The park Naturalist and others are all hangers, and they will be really accommodating. They even made another group campsite this year that they left 90% of the trees with hammocks in mind. I will talk to them on Friday and check availability for close to the end of the month. I will start a new thread when I find out more.

I am going to just keep on trucking, like I am gonna be at Sipsey this weekend, despite the unknowns.
