Sipsey Wilderness Hang April 4th, 5th and 6th

I just thought I would post a new thread with the dates and location of the hang. We will hang at Wolfpen Hunter's Camp. Wolfpen is located on Cranal Road, half way between Randolph Trailhead and The Sipsey Recreation Area Trailhead. Lots of maps and info here:http://www.sipseywilderness.org/

Very much looking forward to this hang. The boy and I will be leaving early on Friday so we should be there early part of the afternoon. I'll try to get an early start on firewood for everyone.

Awesome! Bring a hand saw. I will be there early too. Just across Cranal road from the entrance to Wolfpen Camp is the trail down to Eagle creek. There are several huge oaks that blew down last year, along the trail not too far in. literally tons of firewood. I could bring my utility trailer (and some more seasoned wood from home) too.

With that line of thinking in place, I have a lot of crating boards that are dryer than dry. They will help anything get started fast and can be used to reset a cold coals situation. I'll bring a usable bundle of that as well.

We ( the boys and I) were thinking of dividing up those who want to hike and lead hikes to different places. Then perhaps switch up Sunday. One of us could lead the Eagle Creek/ Little Ugly/Hemlock Loop and another could lead a hike to White Creek Falls/ Valentine Pool. Not supposed to have groups larger than 10 on a hike or meeting at a point in the Wilderness at the same time.

I can also help lead a hike one day somewhere if needed. White creek? Rippey cabin? Fall creek falls? Pretty much anywhere EXCEPT Little ugly loop - just let me know.

I will either be there laaaaate Friday night or Saturday morning. I have a camping class to teach on Friday, but hopefully I can get both dad and I motivated enough to make the drive on Friday night. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

Son and I plan to leave after he gets out of school. I am guessing we will be there before 5 I hope. Not sure how much hiking I will want to do, knee has been acting up.
