    2 day's on the gorge

The past weekend i took what was supposed to be a three day trip up to Linville Gorge with my dad as a last test run before he leaves for his AT through hike 4/4/14. Well he decided it would be a good idea to watch my sister's kids because she came down with the stomach bug the day before we left (i found out on the trail . Needless to say the bug got him on the trail and i had to lighten his pack and help him out a day early due to a fear of dehydration. I don't know many people that can hike and puke at the same time but he did it like a champ.

This was my first trip up to LG and it took me less then two hours from doorstep to trail head so many more trips to come. What a beautiful place. Especially the water tree, best water i have ever tasted on the trail.

    Here are a few picks.

Oh yeah. I want to try the northern side next time. A lot of fire damage in the south.

Nice looking hike. What's your dad's trail name? Will he be doing a Trail Journal? I start my journey on the AT 4/12.
