Join us for the first Idaho Spring Meat and Greet at Edna Creek Campground. Located about an hour from Boise just off of HWY 21. Easy access and car camping in a small quiet campground. Close to numerous trails for day hikes, fishing and relaxing in the mountains. We hope to bring together a good number of Idaho and near by states hammock campers to have the chance to meet and learn about hammock camping and all of the gear that goes with it. Friday evening will be potluck night (hence the Meat in Meat & Greet) so plan to bring something to share. Saturday we will take a short drive and hike 4 miles into a high alpine lake for some exceptional Cutthroat fishing followed by returning to camp in the evening.

I'm in on this hang Paul. I Don't know how many people will be attending, but I will make some BBQ ribs. I'm not sure if I will use the dutch oven or the grill. Either way they should be good. I also will bring some fried potatos. They were good last time we had them.

This should be a great hang. I'm looking forward to it.

I should be able to make it too. Wed-Sat are days I'm free. If Keith is doing ribs, I'll just show up to eat...

Been a few weeks but I figured I would give this a bump. Hoping we get a good group together for the Spring hang.

Do we have a number for who is attending this hang? If it is only a few of us, then I will just bring something to compliment the ribs. If we have a larger group, then I will bring something else to cook.

Hey Bacon Brother.

We have the 3 of us, + WaterCamper and his wife said they would try to come up Friday. Another guy out of Boise that is brand new to hanging might make it, I have to make his quilt, suspension and bug net first. And I have thrown it out to a bunch of other folks...but only a five count so far.

So with that bump, everyone is welcome. Come Join us for a fun hang, some great food...we don't mess around there will be some great chow. Spring is here and it's warming up.

Next week! I'm planning to head up there and check things out tomorrow.

Not sure about hiking into the lake or not right now, last week it still looked like a lot of snow at the higher elevations but we will check it out and see how it looks.

This turned out to be a great trip. Thanks to everyone that came. KSC deserves a special thanks for bringing all of the little extras that made camp life a little bit better and the pot luck cooking easier. The food was amazing. And the time spent together was outstanding. Thanks all, we will be planning another next year!

I had a great time and am looking forward to next year. Thanks to pgibson I got to see some beautiful country I hadn't had an excuse to visit before and meet some terrific people. The weather couldn't have been better. This was a great way to kick off the camping season!
