    New in Charlotte, NC

    Hi there,

I just placed my order for a WBBB and WBRR for myself and my son, now can't wait for them to arrive!

I've always loved camping, but got away from it while my son was little. He just started scouts, so we're finally getting out in the woods and decided we'd like to try it in hammocks.

I've already learned so much from this site, we're really excited to get the hammocks and try to make it to a group hang.

Welcome to another Queen City hanger

I'd been away from backpacking myself for about 1.5 years, but got back into.
Now I love getting time out in the woods.

I'm sure you & your son will enjoy the hammocks.

Good for you. I started with hammocks after I realized my $80 9 person ozark trail tent wasnt going to last and wasnt something I could carry into the woods. I first realized I wanted lighter better gear but didnt know about hammocks. I bought a few tents and some self inflating pads. I found rei first. Loaded up on some more cheap, but light gear thru the garage sale, bought a bunch from alps mountaineering too. Then I found a video of Hennessey Hammocks and thought, now thats sleeping in style.
In the process of looking into those hh's I discovered hf. Now me and my son have full rigs each with hammocks, bugnets, tarps and all the rigging is dutchware and loops and easy. Although some of our gear is different it hangs exactly the same. Our pack is very active and we camp 5-6 times a year. I try to add 3-5 non-scout trips to let my son do all the things I tell him not to do during scouts.
Enjoy scouts, this site, getting out to the woods and most of all the time with your son.

We are enjoying scouts. He'd getting ready to move up to Webelos, so we're starting to plan trips for the next year. We're having a blast. This weekend is devoted to planning an upcoming trip to Camp Grimes.

Welcome from south of the Capital City.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
