    Amsteel whoopies vs Dynaglide whoopies

Made some Dynaglide whoopies today. I had some DG leftover from making a bear rope for our Glacier trip this summer. Was just curious about weight differences. One amsteel whoopie weighed .7oz vs .4oz for DG. DG is very easy to work with. Took a few minutes to make a pair of whoopies.

Just info in anyone was interested.

I have a Darien coming form Papasmurf so may try them on that when it arrives. This stuff is thin, but can't wait to try it.

    Nice comparison!
I've made both and use Dynaglide for myself and loan out the rig with Amsteel.

How is DG with wicking water. I also made two dogbones and was going to use Dutch biners to attach whoopies to hammock. But I'm thinking to shed some more weight I may just attach whoopies direct to hammock if wicking isn't a problem.

I have Dutch whoopie hooks on the end of my whoopies that I attach to small continuous loops on the hammock for a lightweight water-stop. Still allows me to remove a wet or dirty suspension quickly & easily.

Don't trust my memory on this, but I think it is 900-1000 lbs.

I may make a pair with whoopie hooks. Can't have to many whoopie slings

Can't really see the wisdom of risking my spine over three-tenths of an ounce.
