    Experiences in the UK?

    Anyone care to share their
experiences in the uk? I've tent camped a lot and sites often don't have trees or don't seem friendly enough to allow hanging if they do.

I'm fine to wild camp but sometimes want an easy place with bathrooms and car access for equipment testing and taking the girlfriend or friends with kids.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

I can't find it right now, but there's this blog about a guy from the UK who bike-hammocked all around Europe. He talks a lot about camping in Graveyards (with permission), on private property (with permission!), and paying to sleep outside of hotels...

I have no direct experience but BCUK has allot of hangers and their a friendly bunch. They could give you lots of info.

+1. There are a few of the more enlightened campsites that allow it. If you search on BCUK, you should find some threads relating to it. I have no direct experience as I always wild camp.

Would love to hear about any Wild places one can camp and make a small fire.

I will be in the Cotswalds area for 2 days, and would love to hang my hammock.

I am a Yank so I want to be as free as possible without getting into trouble.

I have reached out to a ton of camping sites but they do not seem open/friendly to the idea. And/or they have no trees.

I goggled BCUK, it that Bushcraftuk?

    Thanks

Yes Bcuk is bushcraft uk, I once spoke to a manager at a site under the http://www.campingintheforest.co.uk group who didn't see an issue with hanging after I explained about proper tree straps for hanging.
