    My new climashield TQ

Just finished my climashield 5.0 TQ using 1.1oz ripstop. I think it's gonna be plenty warm.....however, note to self....add a few more inches to the length. I'm 5'7" and cut the ripstop 72"..... I was hoping to have it cover my head when using it. Well, I'm pleased with it but I would feel better if it was a bit longer. I think I can add to the length if I have enough CS left from the next project which will be the UQ. To see how well it compresses, I took the bag you get when you buy stuff from the Dollar store or Food Lion etc and was able to cram it in.....

Something else....rough hands don't go well with climashield!

Hey Charliev...mighty kind of ya...let me see what I end up with, if any after making the UQ. As is, it may be ok. I tested it on the floor where I made it. Brought it back to the boat and tried it and it didn't feel too bad. The real test will be in the hammock.
I thought about putting vinyl gloves on, but I hate working in gloves! May give it go when doing the UQ tho...
Tnx for offer and glove tip...

Temps here didn't get too low last night but I wanted to try the TQ. Tests were made on my boat. Temperature in the forward cabin didn't go below 60. Just sleeping in my camo boxers I was very warm....in fact too warm. Had to switch over to the PLTQ. I also noticed that I had pretty good coverage...better then I first thought. Tonight is supposed to be colder so will try it again. I am a happy soon-to-be (in a hammock) camper.

Thanks to everyone here on the HF for some really cool ideas, great how-to videos and lots of inspiration for someone new to the hobby.

Really nice looking quilt. I'm about to make one just like it.... but with Primaloft.

My eyes miss the baffles for some reason.

Post a pic of the packed size. Looking good mate.

I did have enough climashield and 1.1 rippy left to make a 12" x 60" add on to the TQ I made yesterday. Will attach and report tomorrow....

Great job on the quilt! Yeah I have to lather up with lotion before I handle climashield so my hands don't act like Velcro.

Thanks JasonByers....made the UQ yesterday and employed vinyl gloves. That helps big time, even when smoothing out the ripstop when lining things up...my hands would snag on it too. I made the extension for the TQ yesterday afternoon and will add it on today. Took some pics of the it in a bag. I don't know if its bad for Climashield to be compressed much, but I could have gotten it smaller. Don't have scales but it is very lite....
