Really well done! I just saw it pop up in my youtube feed and I'm glad I did! Very clear instructions without a lot of rambling, I could tell you made sure to keep it a manageable length. Good quality camera work and great jokes! I'm looking forward to the next video.

    PS Enjoyed the bloopers too!

    Keep it up!

Great video, but your dimensions are bothering me..is there something I am missing?

If you have an 11ft ridge line, and a 7.5ft main edge, if you offset the main edge 2ft on one side, it will only be offset 1.5ft on the other - so your hex isn't symmetrical. Is this on purpose?

Look at the diagram at the bottom of the first post, and it will make sense.

Thats what I'm looking at, and it doesn't.

    11ft ridgeline - 7.5ft main edge - 2ft offset = 1.5ft remaining for the other side offset.

When I make a hex tarp like this I do an 11ft ridgeline, with 2ft offset each side and a 7ft main edge.

My question is why would you make the trapezoid asymetrical?
The 2ft dimension should really be 1ft 9in for a symmetric tarp.

There is no offset in the middle...20.5 ft= 11ft+7.5ft+2ft offset. The offset in the middle is cancelled out in the math, because the pair join at that angle.

Here, this should help. Do the math and the red dimension comes out to 1.5ft. Why design that way?
