Amok Equipment - Draumr camping hammock

I've just heard about a new business starting up here in Norway called Amok Equipment, and they made this video of their new prototype hammock over at: amokequipment. com (It's in norwegian, but I think mostly it's self explanatory). It's sleeping on the diagonal taken to the extreme If there's something in the video you don't understand i can try and translate it. So I just wanted to hear what you guys think about it? Personally I think it looks interesting.

That looks like a very complicate build, and it looks pretty heavy too. It sure does look comfortable though. Definitely interesting. Thanks

Looks heavy. Also, seems like it would be darned near impossible to use an underquilt with this design - seems more like a bed than a hammock.

Supposedly it weighs about 2kg (a little over 4lbs), so yeah a little heavy, but my current setup is 1,5-2 kg depending on how big a tarp I bring. I also thought about hanging an underquilt on it, and i guess it could be done with some modifications. Other thoughts I have on it is I guess it could be a little unstable in heavy wind, so maybe a guyline from the footend to the ground? Also I would like a dark tarp to allow me to sleep longer in the morning (they do say in the video that the yellow tarp is only for the prototype and that they will be changing that in the final design. ALso I'm worried you could end up sleeping in a reverse bananashape!?!? My biggest concern however is the price. 3000 NOK is roughly 500$. For that kind of money I would like to read some positive reviews.

Pretty slick. Looks like an evolution to the Exped Ergo Combi hammock.

Slick looking setup. Too heavy for me if it weighs more than 4lbs, unless it could fit two!

That's not a hammock, it's a furnished cabin in the woods. Bed, chair, recliner, what else does it do? Car camping, motorcycle and pulk but I don't want to carry it.

Gee, I which I'd said that! It really is a different thought on what a hammock is. Maybe it's a throne for the mythical Hammock King.
