Any idea if this is downproof?

I just picked up 25 yards of 1.1 Coyote ripstop from magnafabrics. Anybody know if this will work for making down quilts? I didn't even think to check before purchasing. as I planned on using it for hammocks, but I will not use all 25 yards.

It's a poor choice for use with down. It is a pure finish nylon but it needs to be a calendered finish to prevent leakage.

Thanks, I figured as much but wanted to double check with some of you more experienced folks.

In this case it says pure finish, indicating it had not been calendared. Usually though, if it is not indicated, a calendared fabric will have a shiny side.

Typically a visual indicator is shiny one side but that is no guarantee of downproof or calender finish. Besides calender thread count and weave come into play as well. A low thread count even calendered will have poor performance with high FP down.
