I use the nite eyes and that stuff works great. Considering some of the things that can happen when either you or someone else trip up on unseen guy lines in the middle of the nite, it's worth the money IMHO.

No, it is not hollow braid construction. I haven't heard of a spliceable cord with reflective tracers.

Yeah this is what I'm leaning toward.

+1 on the NiteIze - it's more reflective than most of the other stuff in my collection here. Another strategy is to make (buy from Exped?) little guyline 'bags' that act as flags on the guylines.... sorry, off-topic...

the reflective cord needs you to hold your flashlight in line with your eyes (better yet a headlight) if you hold your flashlight to the side the reflection drops drastically.

This is what I mostly use. Smaller and lighter than the Nite-Ize cord, which is over-kill for guylines anyway. I get the 1.8mm version at local outfitters.

There's also the super thin stuff FireInMyBones gets from Hong Kong. I use it too. There's a thread on here all about it.

I had a bunch of 6-8 ft pieces of 1/8 yellow amsteel laying around, so i spliced locked brummel loops on one end and back spliced the other ends and will use them as guy lines on my tarps, i dont care about wieght and the big yellow might keep eneryone from tripping over my lines (maybe), i also have those reflective spoke pieces attached to the top of mystakes on the little piece os string thats there to help pull the stakes up
