Cool... PM me here if it gets to that.
I guess you could save 10 seconds or so with the extra biners. I agree that that extra biner could save some friction wear. Seeing that webbing is so cheap and that I'm not too concerned with longterm wear since I'm not thru-hiking, I think I'll pass on using a biner on the treeside...

The single biggest reason to use the biner on the tree side is that you don't have to thread and unthread the buckle each time you move. It's not the time. For me it's the fiddle factor.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Are any of you using JRB's TriGuides? I lost one of mine but I am thinking about going back to them, myself. Takes about a minute longer per side, but much less weight. Mule
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

I hadn't thought about it this way...makes more sense to me now. I could just leave the straps attached to the cinch buckle adapters all the time. Biner to hammock, biner on strap at tree, adjust buckle...easy enough...sounds much better than slap straps!

I have them on my wife's hammock but we haven't set that up in awhile so I don't know what I think of them.
