NorCal Boggs Mountain Hang #4

[E.A.Y.]

We had 11 happy hangers and 3 happy dogs at our fourth Northern California Boggs Mountain hang (I was wrong: it was Spring, Spring, Fall, Spring).


(Sidewinder and Co. had already left by the time the cats were herded and the shutter operated)

First item of business: lost and found - one small poncho left on a picnic table. PM me and I'll mail it to you.

I arrived Friday afternoon, Sidewinder and Louise, and SW's son (Possum - the BEST trail name story ever!) and Cody-the-dog were just setting up. OK, Cody was looking for something to eat.

Next were Pockets, Fronkey, and Tala-the-dog.


Saturday arrivals murban, Kapang!, GregG and Thunder-the-dog, Garg763, meld. Sadly, Sidewinder, Louise, and Possum had to leave Saturday afternoon.

socks, suspension, stoves; tall tales, tall beers, tall hangers; bears, bison, mountain lions; brats, bannana bread, steaks; a whole lotta wood burned and a lotta fun had.

I have several projects I want to work on (that always happens after a group hang) and I'm looking forward to the next hang at Boggs (#5) the first weekend of October 2014.

Thank you Liz once again for putting this together. It was great to see everyone again and to meet new people and folks that I've only known online before this hang. Sorry we have to leave early but it was fun while we were there. To everyone who came, I hope that we get to spend some time together on the trail this year.

We had a really fun time meeting everyone and great talk around that fire ring too. Pockets especially enjoyed meeting all the other hangers for her first group hang. Thanks for putting it all together E.A.Y. and hope to see you guys out in the woods again someday.

Thanks tall who attended. That was a blast! It's so comforting to know that I'm not alone in my hammock/gear obsession. Great variety of people, experience and conversation topics. Looking forward to the fall hang. Extra thanks to Liz for making it happen and GregB for dinner.

Thanks to E.A.Y for organizing and to all of you for welcoming a new hanger into your midst. I have a few bugs to work out of my hang system. I enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to seeing you again at the next hang or on the trail. Good luck on all your summer plans.

I'm still confusing different people Gary (The Photographer) what was your online name? And what was Peter's online name?

I had a great time. Mt Boggs is really a pretty spot which isn't really all that far from my house. Thunder was incredibly tired the next day. He did "Ok" with Cody and Tala. He was talking a lot more than he should and was more aggressive than I like. But overall they got along alright.

I slept incredibly well in my hammock. I only got up because Thunder jumped up on me because everyone else was awake and he was getting excited.

It was a great time. I'm really happy I went.
