Finished my first DIY hammock for my niece. It's made of 1.5 oz rip stop nylon with 7/64th Amstel continuous loops. Her favorite color is purple so that's what I got. And now she has everything she'll need for our backpacking trip.

Looks nice. Which design did you use and what are the dimensions? She's really gonna enjoy it!

Nice work.
I think Bushwhacker was looking for purple ripstop. Where did you get it...got a link? Thanks.
Thanks for the comments guys. She's really excited to get her own hammock.
I cut the material at 11 1/2 foot so when I made the channels it would be right at 11 foot. Them I ran a zip tie through the channel to bunch up the ends and larks headed the continuous loop around the end of the hammock and then ran the rest of it through the center of the loop created by the zip tie. I weigh 220 lbs and when I "loaded" the hammock it just tightened the larks head around the fabric. It didn't seem to be pulling or putting any pressure on the zip tie.
Here's the link for the material.

It took a little searching to find purple in 1.5 oz.
I also whipped together a double ended stuff sack.
Anything else just ask...

Awesome! I love the clean finished look on the ends of the hammocks. The zip tie is brilliant! I just changed my DIY over to the zip tie and it was the finished look I have been waiting for. Thanks for sharing!
