Which bottom insulation should I use?

Hello all, I hope everyone is well.

I will be taking an overnight canoe trip this coming weekend and I am thinking of trying something different. I usually use my Warbonnet yeti for my WBBB XLC and I stay really warm. I was looking on craigslist and found a new Alps Mountaineering Comfort Series sleeping pad, the guy was asking $40. I do not need another pad as I have 3, so I am not sure why I emailed the guy and told him I would give him $20, he accepted.

The pad is really nice and it has the little rubbery, sticky dots on the bottom of it so it will stay in place. I stuck it into the double layer BB today and I really like how it opens up the hammock, not to mention it was really comfy.

So, I'm thinking of leaving the yeti at home this trip. Temps are supposed to be 75 degrees during the day and a low of 55 degrees for the night. The pad should do just fine right? I would not want to use the pad and the UQ together right? What do you guys think?

All I can say is try it out before you go, or take both.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

I think you will be fine as long as the pad is rated. I am sure that it is.

Like a few rare people here, I actually prefer pads. The only gripes are bulk (which I battle by strapping to outside of pack) and condensation/sweat in warmer weather. You really can't find out if condensation is a problem until you've tried sleeping in the temps you will be facing. But regardless, that pad should be plenty warm for you. The other issue is you may need some sort of shoulder coverage. Best of luck!
