Give me a shout when it is closer. I may be able to join you. The Long Trail (LT) is close by and has some great hiking.
Same here. I've got those first two weeks of August off and live close to a lot of the trail.
If it helps I'm in the Burlington area as well. You really can't go wrong with any part of the northern portion of the LT. Shoot me a pm, we'll talk. I'm also thinking of doing some if not all of the northville placid trail as well.
I have my hotel room booked for August 1 and 2. The conference ends Sunday evening on August 3. I'd like to crash somewhere that night, hike Monday, camp Monday night, hike Tuesday. Then crash that night and fly home Wednesday morning.
Alright, I'm getting a little panicky. I'm not sure how to get onto or off the long trail. I'm in Burlington without a car. I'm probably going to camp at north beach park Sunday night. I'd really like either someone to join me (!) or a trail angel to take me out to the long trail Monday morning and then pick me up Tuesday evening
No worries, I think I got it covered. I'll write something up in a few days when I get back
