    Magnafabrics Shipping Fees

It costs ~23$ to ship! Is it still really the best place to buy in bulk? (Other than ripstopbytheroll of course, which doesn't currently have the colour I want).

Does it matter that it's not a "first"?

Gotta remember that you're shipping from the US to Canada...both USPS and Canada Post want their pound of flesh.

I'm not sure how much you're ordering but it's probably quite reasonable.

I try to order as much as possible to do multiple projects from one supplier at one time to lessen the impact of the shipping charges.

Just remember to always insist on USPS shipping not UPS or other courier - the couriers tack on border brokerage fees on top of higher shipping rates. If you think postal shipping is bad, you'll have heart failure when you see what they charge.

The other choice, depending on where you are in Ontario is to have your stuff shipped to a US border town and do some cross-border trips. It's not worthwhile for me, I'm 5 to 8 hours from any border crossing but you might be closer.

Nope, shipping to relatives in Cali. They don't even ship to Canada.

My 49 yards of 68" wide 30d ACU ripstop pure finish came out to $51 shipped from Magna.
    That's $1.04 a yard. Plenty good of a deal.

bear in mind the size of the roll. they're usually around 30-36 inches long and around 12 inches wide, and sometimes thicker around depending on how much fabric is on the roll.....if it comes on cardboard bolts that is.... when a package sized 14x11x3 is $13 to ship USPS, of course packages bigger than that is going to cost a lot more...

Mine came on the roll. I don't think they use many bolts. Came in a 4x4x68" box.
