    Diy tarp finished

Made me a silnylon tarp. Started with 1.1 ripstop from diy gear supply. I made it 10'X10' to use in diamond configuration. French seam to join two pieces and grosgrain for tie outs
I put tie outs on each corner and in the middle of each side. I hemmed all edges with about 3/4 inch hem. Before water proofing weight 16.64 oz. I mixed up 100% silicone caulk with mineral spirits and dunked the whole shebang. After treatment 19.84 oz. packs up about 1/3 the size of my 10X13 aqua quest tarp. Happy with it but have not checked for waterproofness yet. Pictures taken while hanging to dry. Had about 100 little bug stuck all over it this morning. Had one booboo while cutting strings from sewing corner tie outs got careless and cut tarp. Had to sew on patch. I was truly disgusted with that as i was so careful with my sewing. It was late and i was too tired to be working on it. Thats my excuse anyway

Well it looks great anyways. A little mistake just adds character. I always try not to work when I'm tired. I've had mistakes like that happen many times! Good job! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. Though I think your seams are too straight. I read that wavy seems confuses bears and makes then run away. That's why not one of my stitch runs is straight.
