    Fat Guy Kilt

Fat guy kilt, size 54. I bought this while I was waiting for my 5.11 kilt to come in, and I've worn it a few times. No hard wear or anything like that. It's comfortable, if a bit heavy but I like that - to mean it means that it will stand up to harsh wear.

THIS is the exact kilt I bought at the exact price. For those not interested in clicking the link, here's the writeup from the manufacturer:

    Utility Kilt

    Heavy Duty Cotton Drill
Sewn down pleats on the back
Carpenters Flap Pockets with studs on both sides
    Antiqued brass buckles and studs
    Internal studs for better hold
2 fabric straps with brass eyelets and buckles

Wear this kilt just below the navel (belly button)
    $_57.JPG

Two of the brass eyelets have fallen out of one of the fabric straps, but they're cosmetic - they don't change how the kilt wears.

SWMBO is on a cleaning binge, and I can only wear one kilt at a time so this one's gotta go.

$60 to your door, shipped via USPS.

Does this go down to maybe a 52"? And what's it's length?

Length (according to the listing) is 24.

It seems a little tight on me, so it would likely fit a 52.

...and yes, 5.11 made one in a 54.

Man, I'm intrigued and I don't know why. I'm trying to figure out the idea of kilts. I just don't think I could explain wearing a dress to anybody I know.

I want a Kilt but I want a more traditional style (like a flannel shirt design).

Plus, I love saying (in my best Sean Connery voice), "I'm Not Wearing Any Panties" (cause I don't with a kilt =).

That... right there... is the problem. Why does anyone need an explanation? It is _not_ a "dress" or a "skirt". It is a profoundly masculine garment worn by huge burly guys you would never want to meet in a dark alley. Check out the size of Highland Games athletes sometime. Admittedly, you need to feel it to rock it. But it's worth it just for the glances you get. Of course it helps that my heritage is reflected in most of my choices. Time to get out of my sweats again and back into my casual dress kilts.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Will the kilt adjust to a shrinking waist line (I'm losing weight)?

Just like pants, it's a fitted waist size...but just like pants, you can wear a belt with it.

Also, good on you for losing weight! I'm trying to myself!
