My suggestion is to go with W2C as they're some of the best brokers in Canada.
I'm bringing in more stuff now. Cheaper to have larger orders for the shipping. Also found a local / Canadian source for my polyester webbing and such.
How come there aren't any Canadian topquilt and underquilt manufacturers? Or do they exist and I just don't know about them.
I have no problem supporting US (or other foreign) cottage manufacturers like I've done before, but I'd like to support local Canadian industry if possible.
The down quilt industry is amazing. Im doing some cool weather - summer Apex quilts for people but leave
the down quilts to the pro's. I'm eyeballing an Incubator 20 but the boss says no
Thanks for the info on the cordage, the chandlery is right here in Ottawa! I can now physically go and buy amsteel and poly webbing.. granted it's a little pricier @ .35/ft ($.30 USD) but it's $CDN, no shipping and no duty fees..
Too bad my diygearsupply.com order just shipped yesterday...
The website is http://www.thechandleryonline.com/ and the physical address is 367 Poulin Ave, Ottawa, Ontario
Now if I could only get local fabric at a decent price.
I have just been chatting with the distributor for Guterman in Canada today, principally about Tera 40 but of course they do have other weights available.
Is anyone else interested in buying this thread?
It's available singly in 4000m spools or in boxes (of 10) I think in 400m and 1,200m.
I'm waiting for more details on colours and prices but it would be good to hear from anyone else wanting to buy some.

Started a thread about Thermarest hammocks, strap suspension and bugnet available at MEC now.

Don't let life get in the way of living.
What ever happened with this...I was looking at ordering some down from Ripstop but for $100 in down, it's $47 in shipping. And if that's how much it costs to ship down into Canada from the US I can just bet that there will be duty and/or importing fees on that...
Great to hear there are some manufacturers/suppliers north of the border.
I know some of these mailbox services have been mentioned, but if you're near Toronto or the Niagara region, I'd recommend CBIUSA.com. They are just across the bridge in downtown Niagara Falls and will hold stuff for a few months at no extra charge. This detail was key for me as we only get over every 2-3 months and didn't want extra storage fees adding up. Just note they aren't open on Sunday.
If you're anywhere near another border crossing, look into Kinek https://www.kinek.com/find-border-kinekpoint
Similar model and more pickup points. Some of the locations charge based on duration, but some don't.
