most climbers use portaledges, which are more like suspended cots than hammocks. there are a couple wall hammocks though, and are probably harder to get set up comfortably.

A consideration is how you expect to get a small jam nut OUT after you're done. It will have seen a lot of force and dynamics over the course of a night. A rock, on the other hand, can just stay there.

good point, you'd probably want to carry a nut tool as well, might be hard to remove without. those are about the weight of an nut as well.
