    Ridge line in a pinch....

Ok guys….I had to cut my Ridge line off my hammock and need a ridge line in a pinch…..I have some, I call it Mason String, the string that brick layers use….strong and I don’t think it stretches????....not sure

I know Par cord would stretch……any other suggestions for a Ridgeline in a pinch?

have a trip coming up Monday.

How about some planer board line from the fishing store. I've used it in the past for guylines. It's low stretch and is spliceable. It is available in a 300lb breaking strength. 300 feet was something like $10.00. I wouldn't use it regularly but it could work in a pinch for a ridgeline. I use my ridgeline as more of a guide for setting up and to support the bugnet and so there is not that much stress on it as there would be if I had to rely on it for less than ideal tree distances.

Nylon masons line is made to stretch......and stretch....and stretch.

Bubba's dacron (polyester) planer board line is a much better idea.
