    Another one in Minnesota

    Hammockforums,

First, thank you. I'm quite late in introducing myself as I've been reading, learning, and appreciating this community for quite some time. This is easily the friendliest and most helpful group of folks I've encountered on the internet.

I live near St. Paul, MN and I'm a backpacker and touring cyclist. I was initially attracted to hammock camping because of the ability to sit and relax out of the weather (not inside a tiny solo tent). I am constantly tinkering with my gear...so hammock camping is a perfect venue for my neurosis.

I'm determined to get up to the Superior Hiking Trail this fall - be great to see you there or the other amazing spots here in MN. I'm from Colorado and I'm blown away by this place.

welcome from your northern hammocking brother. I plan on heading down to hike the SHT a few times this year....once the snow goes...whenever that is.

Welcome to the forums from Guam. There are quite a few of you guys up there. The lounge-ability of a hammock is just all too nice. Keep on researching and hanging. Its an entrapping hobby. Welcome!

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.

Welcome the HF. I did the same thing as you: I sat back and read a bunch before I announced myself.

Hope to see you at one of the hangs that happen in MN or in northern WI. Keep an eye on the planning threads and one will pop up sooner or later that you will be able to attend.

    Cheers,

    Mark
