trying to work out some details...........

Just started the DIY thing and im enjoying it. im interested in an under quilt and over quilt.
I made a duel layer hammock, can i make a packable underquilt to go between the layers.....that will work?

I dont know if i want to get into down or now for quilts, i think for now i would like to use sheet goods for ease.

Short answer - not really gonna work all that well. Underquilts generally function by loft - putting the insulation in between the layers will compress it, thereby reducing the loft and insulative qualities. Now, some may argue that if you use some sort of noncompressible insulation it would work, and it may. However, that'll be bulky and heavy.

I've taped a wool blanket onto a ccf pad and stayed pretty warm.

You could try an Insultex UQ, but then it's more of a pad. If you're keen to use the double layers to hold your insulation, why not make a custom-shaped/sized pad from 3 layers of Insultex?

I don't have to do the In between layers,
I'm also throwing around the idea of a quilt with snaps to add layers.

I have a wool blanket and some bubble wrap stuff for the inter layer also,
    It's just so bulky.

    What SS said.

Snaps, loops, velcro, omnitape, quilthooks, triangle thingys.

    All can be viable options.

Fortunately my kit doesn't seem to need any of that. UQ performs properly with just the provided HG clone suspension. Just hook it on to the hammock at each end.

If you put it between the layers you'd have to make it somehow so that when you laid on it you wouldn't compress the down so it would have to hang loose between the two layers...
