Glad to see you burning up the trail and living the moment. Life is a rush out on the trail.
Great trip report! Really felt like I was going along with you.
Cheers
Looks like the start of an epic trip! Don't think I didn't see that Gorge Rat Logo at your pack weigh-in!
WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Nice book reference there, Dirtwheels. I hope to get back out on the trail for my next three day weekend.
I'm glad. I like it a lot. I only have one adjustment to make to the Dawn Treader (on the docket for today).
The deer and most of the other nimals look like another tree if you're not looking for them. Once my eyes stopped focusing so hard, I could see shapes easier than exact items and then I could bring those objects into focus as I came closer. It was certainly a new way of looking at the world. The AT is a great hiking trail. I can hardly wait to make it further North.
Yeah, most of the people I met thought I was crazy. Baltimore Jack in his hung-over state of mind just looked at me like I was smoking crack. My knees, though, never felt better on the trail than this trip.I've been doing a strength training circuit, that I'll video latter, that really helped a lot. Also watching what I ate on the trail helped a lot too. My breakfasts were normally protein shakes with ~40g protein, 10g dietary fiber, and ~500 calories.
It certainly is. I'm jumpy to get back.
I tried to hit the highlights so the video wouldn't be too long. Thanks for watching.
Yes. The start. I'm glad you noticed the logo. It is there right along with my Foothills Trail logo. They both help define a part of me.
Thanks for the nice video. You sure brought back a lot of memories of that section for me.
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed tagging along. I spent the night in the Blood Mt shelter one night. It was packed, but kept us warm. I hope to do a section hike myself one day. I can't pull off the whole thing at once these days.
I like the Dawn Treader, it's a cool design!
I suppose "Brother Bones" sounds better than FIMB (pronounced like limb)!
*Formerly "kleinrider"; no longer own any Klein bikes, so figured a change was in order.
Interesting, book marked trail journal. It will be interesting to see what you think of your gear in a 1000 miles. Thanks for sharing. Things look good! ;-)
YMMV

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
Cool video. My son and I were on Springer Mountain on April 11th weekend too - probably saw you up there. Couldn't have picked a better weekend to hike and camp on Springer. We just hiked the Approach Trail from Amicalola. That Approach Trail is a bear! Loved the clear night and bright moon and the breezes.

Great video and can't wait for more. I also trained on the FT and it really helped out. Loved the footage you posted and you had fun even in the bad weather. That's some big miles and ok if you've been training. Hope newer hikers don't try that in the 1st month or so or they would prob do damage. Thanks for posting!
