Leaving out of Parking Lot #8, go left onto the Four Notch Trail where it intersects with the Lone Star Trail. You will cross FS Road 213 almost immediately. Continue on the trail. There is a creek crossing near the 1 Mile Marker, then a Forest Road crossing at the 2 Mile Marker. You will cross one more road and two more creeks in the next 1.9 miles. Just before you reach the 4 Mile Marker, you will hit a caliche road (shown on the map below as 2061). Take a right onto this road and it leads you right to Hidden Lake.

There's also a shorter route shown as a dotted red line on the map. It is faint in places, but it can be followed. Its easier to follow the track coming from Hidden Lake than it is going into it.
If you want to take the short way... wait for another response!
Love ya sarge!
If you ain't havin' fun, you're doin' it wrong
Thank you kindly for the help. I was looking at the map and thought it would not hurt to ask, thanks for the step by step
Sarge will get you there...just be prepared to go on a "walk about".
Just kidding. Many adventures can I chalk up to this trail. Take a look at the map, and have a good hike.
Take it easy,

Be careful on the trip back if you take 4 Notch or the LSHT. Its easy to miss the trail from the caliche road. Ask me how I know.
Its easier to follow the old road's track heading back to Parking Lot #8 from Hidden Lake than it is following it going from PL#8 to Hidden lake. Ask me how I know. Twice.
Safest bet is to use the trail, but hang something from a tree when you come out onto that caliche road (2061) near Mile Marker #4 so that you know where the trail comes out on it.
I'm planning on heading out to Hidden Lake next weekend on May 3rd for the night as a quick break from work. Got a co-worker who might come with me, but anyone who wants to head out there is more than welcome to join.
im so ready to get out there
that's actually a decent map. If you, or SOMEONE in the hike actually looks at it, concentrates on it...
Otherwise it turns into a "I thought YOU knew where we were?" quest for Hidden Lake.
