Well that $120 is just the tubing price there is way more to it than that. I'm guessing it will be closer to $200 finished. I need to finalize the design before I really talk about a price.

I realize there are labor cost but I just figured you were really good and could whip that out in 30 minutes!

Traveling Hammock Stand - swingset style portable

Materials list is way more than the tubing. The barrel and the joiners are made from solid aluminum not tubing. There are stainless 3/8" threads cut to join them. Yeah the tubing parts take the 30 minutes you guessed but the barrel and leg joints have about 3 more hours in them. Of course numbers get better as you produce larger batches.
There will also need to be a bag of some kind to carry all the parts in.

I was joking on the 30 minutes and did notice the solid stock used in the joining pieces. All joking aside you have share a well thought out and executed stand. It looks like you should be able to compete with the BoonDOX stand quite well.

I, living in UK, would not like to ship one of your stands over here.
But would purchase any drawings/ plans so I can get one made here for my use if you do mass produce the stand.
Look forward to seeing how your project develops.

I have to agree with others that you have created an amazingly fine stand: Simple, functional and stylish. I am sooo jealous.

If you ever decide to make just the head ends for sale that would work with readily available fence railing, I would be interested!

I can still do anything I could when I was 21. It just takes longer and hurts more now.

Spent the first couple nights in it actually in a hotel and so far so good. Traveling with a DIY ACU 11' x68" 30d nylon ripstop single layer gathered end hammock and a DIY sewn woobie PLUQ.

Here's the 'pics or it didn't happen'.

Without knowing the EXACT inside diameter of the specific fence tubing it would be impossible to make them fit at the tolerance needed for a good fit. They are also usually seam welded tubing made from flat stock and there would be a thickness difference where the seam is making a tight fitting adapter problematic. So far, I don't see that as a viable option.

I like the stand!!!! Nice work!!! I know it was asked before about the rocking head to toe. Was wondering after using it some if it moves more or less?

Yeah I can get it to rock back-and-forth if I make it big move from one end of the hammock to the other but it seems to not rock for very long.
