    Sparkfly,
Glad you have one of these.
How tall are you and how flat does it sleep as compared to a ENO Doublenest or some other wide hammock?
    thanks much.
    Paul

The frontline isn't wide at all. But I have no problems finding a flat lay. I do like the material the eno is made of though.

    Sparkfly,
I just picked up a 10' metal fence corner post and a bag of Quikcrete 20-40 minute quick set, so I should be able to actually start this new hobby with my HH velcro bottom by Sunday night (tornadoes permitting).

I am thinking about buying one of the DD regular hammocks just for kicks and grins to see what the effect of the size difference is. What were the problems with the stock suspension?"
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks.
    Paul

The stock suspension is a piece of crap webbing . I'm sure if you look up the stock system on YouTube you'll understand. I didn't even hang on it. I removed it the moment I got it, made and installed amsteel continual loops on the ends, went from a webbing suspension with slide locks ( can't remember the name right now) then I went to a whoopie suspension.

Hi guys, sorry for my english - not my native language.

I have been sleeping in DD camping for a while and now with the new super light range I am thinking about something lighter. Is the new superlight hammock still double layer? (with one side zipper etc.)

    Many thanks!

I looked at the superlight range aswell, as I have a DD Camping hammock and wanted a much lighter setup. Ended up making my own DIY gathered end hammock and have ordered the material to make my own tarp after deciding against the DD tarp. What put me off was the PU coated Nylon, and not Silnylon, this apparently makes the material weaker whereby the sil actually makes the material stronger. I think DD are definitely moving in the right direction and their service and craftmanship are exceptional.

    Spark,
Thanks much on the suspension. I will take a look at the videos. I do not know all of the terminology yet so it is somewhat confusing.

    Magic,
Does the PU coating actually weaken the material? Or does the Sil coating just strengthen the material. This is new stuff to me as a brand newby.

    Thanks for your help folks.

I really don't know but you are probably on to something here. I have a PU coated tarp from Campmor that is over 20 years old, has never leaked or torn. It may be that the SIL strengthens the fabric but I don't see that the PU coating weakens it at all.

from all the reading I've ever done this is the first time I've heard about the PU coating weakening anything....have any data to back this up?
