    Thanks cfi/otf I'd like to go back when I could go for a swim, it was too cold this trip for swimming.

    The pack.... I'll give it a 5.5 out of 10. I had a really heavy load on the way out (I'm guessing 45+ lbs ! ) and the frame came apart on me a few times. I didn't glue it together b/c I thought I might need to adjust it, and I was right. On the way out with a lighter load it held together fine. It really wasn't all that bad but it definitely needs some refinement.

    3-year bump! "do not build a camp within 200 feet of roads, streams and trails." per USFS. Whoops!

    Just doing some research, looking to head out that way in the future.

    Yeah, that's pretty [much] the general rule for all trails in the US. I plan to hit up the AT next year also. Probably in NC and NH.
