Overnighter on the isle of wight

Had a quick night in some local woodland with a friend, taught him how to make fire with birch bark and indulged in a bit of campfire cooking and putting the world to rights.

Weather was stunning as was the scenery but we were hit by a thunderstorm at 4am which lasted for a couple of hours. Birdsong in the morning always makes it worth it for me. Brings my tally up to 6 from 6.

have put a link up to the vid below

Did not know you had birch there. We too have tons of it here in Minnesota. What a fire starter.

Cheers guys, I have trouble talking to the camera as I'm always waiting for a response ( I'm a lot more eloquent in real life). Going to invest in some better equipment and try to get some time as my trips are generally spontaneous and just overnighters.

Just the opposite. I thought your presentation on camera was excellent with a funny side. Keep up the good work and again thanks for sharing.
