New in town, from NJ
G'day everyone. First off let me say, that this is probably the friendliest, and most informative forum I've ever been on! The vast amounts of information and comradery is priceless. When it comes to hammock camping, and even camping in general Im a bit of a rookie. Neophyte. Greenhorn. I've been lurking for a few weeks now... trying to soak up as much information as possible, when I then realized that the best way for me to learn is to get out there and do it!
Long story short, my wife and I wanted to get into backpacking and camping. We then read a few articles regarding replacing a tent with a hammock. Intrigued, we went ahead and read on. and on...and on... 3-4 weeks ago, i remember saying to myself, what the heck is a whoopie sling...what does UQ and TQ even mean?! This shug guy on youtube is pretty funny.... Hammocks just arent for backyards?!?!
We're going to start slow. day hikes, maybe car camping. eventually i'd love to do an overnight in the great out doors in a hammock.
