VIDEO: Finger Lakes National Forest April 2014 Mini-Hang

A group of us, living in Central and Western New York, got together for a fun weekend in the Finger Lakes National Forest. Friendships were formed, delicious sausage was eaten and everyone slept wrapped in downy goodness! Here is our story...and we are sticking to it!

thanks for the comment on the maps, glad it helped

I agree on being able to wake up easier for a backpacking trip.
And hiking with the sausage king sounds like it has its perks.

Looks like you are set in videoing your upcoming trip.
My only tip there - make sure you have a checklist (if you don't already) for your electronics.
I've forgotten SD cards, batteries, etc. more than I care to admit.

Great trip report. I'm looking forward to exploring the Finger Lakes area a bit more in the near future.

Great report. Thanks for doing it.

FWIW - woodpeckers do not bother trees until there are bugs under the bark for them to eat. Those trees are on the way out before the peckers get to them. Most of what you showed looked like beetle damage and rot.
    YMMV
