VIDEO: Big South Fork April 2014

The video below covers a great trip to the Big South Fork National Recreation Area. The weather was great and I enjoyed hiking the trail with Potneck. The video shows some of the scenery along the John Muir trail from Grand Gap Loop and the Laurel Fork Creek trail. There is also some hammock stuff at the end with Potneck showing off his setup (Dream Hammock Thunderbird, JRB MW3, and Toxaway tarp). I also included a quick look at a non cuben hammock shelter for those following the development of this concept.

Nice...brings back good memories. The family room under the ledge is a real head banger. Did you notice the angry cliff face?

I forgot to look for the angry cliff face. Hope to see you on the trail again soon

So I have used this one from 2* to 70* with good results. Other than weight I like it better than the cuben version. On the other hand saving almost 1/2 pound in weight makes the cuben version want to go in the pack

Cuben and Colorado wind just don't mix it is way too noisy.
How about a sylArgon air ship? Quiet and lighter than syl nylon.
Need a beta tester for a small discount? I'm game.

Sorry I just remembered this is your Trip Report please excuse my spam :-(

Glad you were able to put the BSF trip together. Not only is that loop a great hike but the weather seems to cooperate as well. Thanks for putting the video together.
