    ADVICE needed Please

    HI
    am stuck to my back garden( for health reasons ) and i really need to get my hammock hung,
    i havent any suitable trees, or buildens to use
    SO am asking advise on metel poles, small girders etc,
    for me to fix my hammock surpension at 6 foot, am thinking of a pole 8 foot, ie two foot in concrete,
    i really dont want to use to small a pole etc,
    can any body advise me on this PLEASE

    Hi, Not sure if this will help, but if I were in your position, I'd:
    1. Make the poles higher than 6 ft so that you can position hammock/tarp together and have plenty of room for height adjustment
    2. My want to fill metal poles with concrete for vertical strength - I've done that with basketball goals and it works well.
    3. Space the poles at least 12 feet apart so you have some lateral adjustability.
    4. OR you can read about some of the hammock stands here and go with that - probably less overall work I guess.

    I would imagine a 4x4 wood post would do just as well as metal.

    The wood we get around here is very poor quilty, i wood only use it with braceing, which i dont realy want to do.
