    I agree that it is unnecessary. I considered it as well, but opted out and still got fantastic results with both a hex tarp and the larger "winter tarp", both made out of sil-nylon.
    Camping is fun!

    It seem to me that a properly tensioned tarp will have a "natural Bow" to it anyway. Never saw a need for a cat-cut ridgeline. Just sayin'.
