To Tarp or not to Tarp

So I have a HH Hex Fly Tarp. I think it has quite good coverage and all but have been contemplating getting a SuperFly Tarp - mainly because of the doors. After my winter camping debacle in the high winds, it would be nice to have a tarp wit doors on it.

But now that I've upgraded to a Dream Hammock, along with getting a UQP, I should be able to burrito myself from virtually all wind when also using the overcover that comes with the Dream Hammock. Both will offer some protection from rain as well - so should I bother getting a Superfly?

Trying to weigh the pro/cons of it and my setup. I think it would still make sense as I wouldn't be baffled by the wind all night. But, at the same time, its extra weight and would probably be overkill on most overnighters I do up here - the wind is more a factor then rain, but Mountain weather can change on a time.

    Thoughts/Suggestions?

I use the covered Dream and UQP method as well. My go to tarp is a 12x10 with one set of doors.
I'm suprised the Hennessy Hex is lighter than a SF.

UGQ's is beta testing a new syl Argon tarp that might be worth checking out I'm looking in to one.
Now that Spring is here a four door tarp would not really be needed until winter, IMO

I like 4 doors for all seasons, though I haven't tried a UQP. I think you're wrong about the Superfly weighing more than an HH Hex.

    HH Hex Polyester 23 oz.
    HH Hex Silnylon 18.6
    Warbonnet Superfly 19 oz.

Unless you consider .4 oz to be an intolerable amount of extra weight!

I always assumed the Superfly was heavier due to the doors? If not, then it probably does make sense to get one! Last year I did camp in the rain.

A dream hammock over cover will not provide adequate protection from rain. The superfly is well worth its weight, however I do not own one, I will in the future.

You have another option in a griz beak for the upwind end.

The Superfly is the ticket when you want to batten down the hatches in strong gusts and sideways rain. It's overkill in fair weather / light rain but you can bungee the doors open. It's noisy in the wind though, so bring earplugs to sleep.
