    My modding weekend

Well, I wasn't unable to camp this weekend, so I spent yesterday on a mod fest:

    1) Converting my ENO DN bag into a bishop bag,
    2) Changing my suspension to whoopies/toggles, and
    3) Replacing my pad with a PLUQ

Of course, after all that, I had to try it out, so step 4 was rigging my back porch for hanging! The end result is below:

I pulled out the wrong stitches on my bag taking it off the hammock, so it's requiring some repairs before it's completed. My PLUQ also needs some adjustments (kept riding too low) - but was very comfy otherwise. Luckily it was only mid-50s on the porch last night so it wasn't too cold.

Thanks to all the DIY'ers on this forum who inspired me to take a chance and have some fun!

Seems like you're on the way to some comfortable nights in the hammock. Good looking job on the PLUQ, should keep you warm.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Looking good! I'll be making a PLUQ soon as well.
    I'd rather be hanging.

Nice looking kit, you are definitely on your way to "pro" status!

Update: One thing I noticed while lying in it is that I had a slight gap between the bottom of my hammock and the PLUQ. It's wasn't a problem, but when I adjusted it once in the middle of the night, I pulled it up tight against my bum, and it was chilly! So, I thought -- I need to tighten this sucker up! I ended up cutting about 3 feet out of my PLUQ shockcord trying to cinch the bottom up tighter. Cinching the shock tighter made for much more wrestling to get the thing in place (and me to get in it as well). And I still had about a 1/2" gap. I really can't see tightening it anymore.

It made me wonder if a gap is normal -- maybe the air between my bum and the PLUQ will work as an insulator? Or maybe it's not and it just wasn't cold enough for me to notice and this will be a problem in colder temps. I was only mid-50s in my test hang and was hoping to have it useful down to the 40s.
