    Ridgeline stuff sack hack... (video)

This just dawned on me Sunday night while backpacking:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq2wGVuKD8c

It fits really well and the stuff sack already is altered to hang well from a ridgeline.

One thing I forgot to point out is that I used duct tape to keep the bag from sliding.

I like this idea, must be a small carabiner and clamp device out there somewhere which could replace the tape. This site gets my creative side bubbling!

Good video. Multiple uses for gear is key to a lite pack. A "prusik" knot with loop of cord instead of duct tape allows it to be adjustable but not necessary. I also like those 99 cent mesh bags women use in washer machines to wash panty hose etc. These mesh bags hang well from ridgeline, dry out small stuff in sun without it blowing away, hang from backpack, hold my gloves and bailing sponge from rescue bars on kayak, and about 100 other uses.

Years ago, I took a small clamp from a name tag I had at work, and use it for a clamp on my ridge line to keep stuff from sliding where I don't want it. It stays on the ridge line when I pack up.

Why do you use something between the carabiner and the ridgeline? i have always clipped directly to the ridgeline...

Good idea with that front 'biner altering the hang of the bag. I'm gonna use that.

I, too, like the prusik idea for the bag's anchor. I've made a few loops from 1mm cord, attached them to my ridgeline via prusiks, and complimented them with small s'biners - just in case. They come in handy.

It prevents the bag from slipping... if you are hanging at a slight angle two caribiners move and will slide and you'll have the bag by your head.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, thanks!
