    WL Tadpole vs WB Edge

These two tarps are comparable. I own the Tadpole and really like it, but looking at both models today, I would say that the Edge had the edge .

    Tadpole

    Price : $90 ($105 with pullouts)
    Weight : 11.5 oz
    Size : 132 x 92
    Fabric : 1.2 silnylon
    Doorkit : $45 x 1 door @ 3.5 oz
    Included : Stuffsack

    Edge

Price : $85 (no pullouts available)
    Weight : 11.25 oz
    Size : 132 x 94
    Fabric : 1.1 silnylon
    Doorkit : $75 x 2 doors @ 4 oz
    Included : Stuffsack, ridgeline, guyouts

The Tadpole uses a beefier fabric, you can buy just one door, doors are lighter, and pullouts are available. The Edge has the better price, is lighter, provides more coverage, the optional doors are less expensive, and it includes all the lines needed to hang.

I have an Edge Tarp, and love it. I considered the Warbonnet's Edge, Wilderness Logic's Tadpole, and an OES. . .they all seemed very comparable to each other and it was very difficult to find a reason to choose one overanother. In the end I went with the Edge because I saved on shipping and got a discount by buying it at the same time as my hammock.

In short, all three are well regarded. I don't doubt you'll be happy with any of the three.

I just noticed that the Edge comes with ridge and corner tie-outs. . .I think the Edge pulled into the lead.

Picked up an etowah outfitters silnylon 10x10 on sale last year.

    Best tarp I have had.

    Light, tough, good coverage.

Appalachian Hammock has a tarp that looks like the OES ones and seems to compete in every area.

Just wanted to mention that the OES uses 1.4 silnylon. Most others are 1.1 silnylon.

It's probably 1.4 after coating, most 1.1 sils are 1.3-1.4 after the coatings.

I ended up going with the Edge. Great price, really light, good size, well made.

Nothing bad about this tarp and at a price that can't be beat.
