Question for WBRR Owners

The RR is my first hammock. Tried it for the first time 2 weeks ago at Big Bend Ranch State Park and slept great. Set up and take down were a breeze, much quicker than a tent. I find I'm more comfortable with tying the straps about head high without much sag. I hang the head slightly lower than the foot area. I love the storage. It has a pouch at the foot end where I put my clothes, one at the head for whatever, and the saddlebags hold a lot. I put my glasses, flashlight clothes and everything I need inside.

Purchased my first hammock a WBRR a couple of months ago. Went on my first backpacking trip ever this past weekend. The first 30 miles of the AT from Springer. Zero problem finding trees, (at least down here in GA) I am 6' 5" and had more than enough room. Super comfortable. You will not be disappointed.

Best hammock I own by far!! I started with a Hennessey hammock/super shelter. Getting in and out of the bottom wasn't doing it for me.

After that I got a Clark nx 150. This is also Fourseason set up/ at least a very cold three season set up and I was still getting pains and my under my knees.

After that I decided to switch one more time to the Warbonnet Ridgerunner. I am a winter camper so I need to get a Fourseason hammock . So I went with the links under quilt in the Spindrift sock. No pains, you could get in and out easy, the most comfortable sleeping hammock I have ever slept in.

The view from a RidgeRunner is definitely better than from a gathered end hammock. It very comfortable, has a lot of storage. I sometimes use a gathered end hammock and sometimes I use the Ridgerunner, just depends what mood I'm in.

It is truly an awesome way to begin. Hammocking is easier with a Ridgerunner. Period.

I'm two months into sleeping in my RidgeRunner nightly!
Finding trees is no problem.
Hanging indoors in my stand is no problem.
Setup is no problem.
My HG Incubator fits great, just no hourglass shape like the Lynx.
Lynx is on my wish lists!
My Exped down mat between layers is perfect too.
Tough call on if I like the underquilt or pad more.

I started with a Hennessey explorer deluxe and it was pretty good.
I got a WB Black Bird and it was very good. Someone made me an offer, so...
I got a WBBBXLC and it was even better. The RR was still on my wish list, so...
I got a RR and I'm glad I did.

I don't know if the RR or XLC will get more trail nights. I sleep well in both.

I'm in Florida also and prefer the RR over my Blackbird. 2 comments - my biggest complaint is that I keep forgetting to get the head spreader bar into it's loop while assembling, wish it was red grosgrain tape instead of black. I'll learn (eventually)😕. Second I tried the pad with both my BB & RR then bought a Mt Greylock UQ. Nylon is cold even in Fla. Of course if your mad enough to camp in mid August (like I did once) .... you're on your own☺

Just to repeat what everyone else said--------you simply cant go wrong with the ridgerunner! Easy to set up, really easy to dial in, really really easy to hang an UQ under------I could go on and on. To top it all off, the price is very reasonable and youre getting a top notch hammock for your money! (I own 2 and have spent several dozen nights in them--I will never go back to ground, and well never go back to a gathered end hammock!)

I'm thinking of getting my first hammock and diving right into one of the best on the market (from what I read), the Warbonnet Ridgerunner.

Unfortunately I missed out on the Florida group hang to hope to lay in one in person but I think I'll like the flat lay, openness, and saddle bags.

My questions are:
1. Have you had trouble finding trees to hang on while camping? I've read this hammock has a long minimum distance requirement. Ill be camping with tent folk so finding flat land with trees that are far enough apart may give me problems.

2. Is it hard to set up ?

3. Would you buy it again if?

4. Do you recommend it for a first hammock?


I've been torn between the WBRR and WBBB XLC. But I'm fairly confident I'll enjoy the WBRR more. Either way I don't think I could go wrong with either.

2. No, everything sets up really quick and easy.

3. Absolutely. Its my perfect hammock! Gathered end just doesnt do it for me.

4. It depends on what you are looking for, but I would recommend it to anyone.

I seriously cant get enough of it, I go sleep in my backyard all the time because I feels so comfortable.
