It's true ... SS has an irrational fear of zippers, so no WBBB in his arsenal.

I'm hoping it's not like the experience that amputees talk about, where they almost believe that it's still there even after it's gone. Is phantom shelf syndrome a thing?

Gotcha. So who's gonna smell him to see if he's truly past his shelf life?

Good excuse for me to get this design off the drawing board and onto fabric.
Sir, I will not stop resting until we get this idea off the drawing board, into the lab and field tested. As long as it takes, as many naps as it takes, I am prepared to sleep for the duration....all for science, the community and the benefit of hangers everywhere!

My fear of zippers is perfectly rational. As a young man I was watering the flowers when portions of my procreative apparatus became trapped in the zipper of my jeans. It was extremely painful, but I sat there for hours trying to figure out if I should just yank my apparatus out of the zipper, unzip the zipper or go to the emergency room. All options were equally unpalatable and extremely painful. I finally just flipped a coin.

So now you know why all my pants have a button closure.

Swapped out the suspension. Put 5" continuous loops on each side (that was a challenge), and have straps (with dutch clips) attached to whoopie slings with whoopie hooks.

    Suspension weight: 5.5oz
(6' straps, titanium dutch hooks, 6' whoopie slings, titanium whoopie hooks)

    DH weight: 21.6oz
(with 5" diameter continuous loops and bug net. Overcover and its peak bag excluded)

    Total: 28.1oz (spring/summer weight)

That's over an ounce less than my WBBB 1.1 dl - for a longer, wider hammock. And preliminary tests show that it's more comfortable - at least for me. I'm 6'2" and 225lbs, so having a 11', 62" wide hammock is definitely seeming to suit me better.

I look forward to checking out this rig. Not to mention the new shade gizmo papa sent north.
