    Summer Gear in Central Texas

Since we are coming up on the summer here quickly, I am interested to know what y'all suggest for summer gear aside from the hammock, net and tarp.

Water and don't forget to hang your boots up - snakes and all that.

EDIT: Where in central TX are you? I know no one that hammock camps and would be interested in getting a group together if possible!

Round Rock, looks to be JUST North of you. This would be my first hang, and would love to go as soon as possible. Maybe next weekend.

I'm on the Austin-Round Rock border - in Wells Branch. You are literally just up the road from me.

I'm pretty booked through the rest of the month but keep me posted. I'd love to meet up with some HF members and talk shop, especially since I'm a noob and whatnot.

Hey I'm down in Kyle just South of Austin and Buda. I would love to be included in the group hang. I'm a newb to this but very motivated. I'm going to a group get together with folks from bushcraftusa forum in San Saba this weekend and going to do my second "in the wild" hang. Have done a few in my backyard and in my house testing my Turtledog stands. Looking forward to see if we can get this going.

I know in SoDak in the mid July to early August it get pretty hot. Probably not as hot as you guys, but I have spent the night in my hammock when it was 90 degrees at midnight yet. At this point all you need is a high hung tarp to allow privacy for when you strip down to try to get cool.
