Reccomendations for a really good three to four day trip

Anyone know of any real good trips/hike around 100 miles from Yakima WA. I want to get out for a few days and want to try some different spots.

Mt Rainier's Wonderland Trail should be melted out in a week or two ... call the Wilderness Info Center.

All the major trail side camps, except Mowich Lake, have a number of sites that are suitable for hammocks.... you'll need huggers that are somewhat longer than standard.

Are you close to the Pacific Northwest Trail? With 1200 miles, I'm sure you can find a section to hike.

How about the West Coast Trail in Vancouver Island. It's only 47 miles though.

Wonderland trail, like past post suggested.

by the way, I've not hiked any of those trails, but have them on my to do list. Good luck and have a great trip.

    Thanks for the input folks.

The PNT looks to be a bit out of my travel range but may get done anyway.

Mt Rainier is a possibility, it just gets swamped sometimes.

How about Olympic National Park? You could go in at Hurricane Ridge near Port Angeles ( don't know about the snow levels, and that might be a bit over 100 miles?). What about any where in the National Forest up near Spokane? Or in North Cascades Park around Lake Chelan just north of Leavenworth?

    Mike--

I'm trying to stay within approx 100 mi.

Just put a map of the Cascades on the wall and throw a dart ... can't miss.

West on Rt 12 to the pass -- hike n or s on the Pacific Crest Trail. Ditto Rt 90.

Goat Rocks and Mt Adams area .... Get a guide book from REI.

Rainier is usually difficult to schedule primo spots (Indian Bar, Mystic Lake & Summerland etc) in late July to late Aug ... usually early mid week walk-ups can get in. Try the Northern Loop(over Windy Pass), 3 days if you are in decent shape; 4 days if you are a little soft. I've worked at Mystic lake, Golden lakes and Indian Henry's and other lovely locations in the park.

Riverkeeper thanks. I've been to the Goat rocks my last several trips. Probably head north after gettin off Hwy twelve before Randle. Need to look up the trail but there is an area there with several lakes that looks interesting.

At White Pass (Rt 12) head north into the alpine lakes where catching trout is decent and misquitos catching you is even better....mostly brookies I recall. Car swap or car drop for the PCT,White Pass to Cayuse-Chinook Pass, to where 410 goes by Rainier.... about 3 days or so.
