    OH>Wayne Nat'l Forest (Marietta District)>May 27-29, 2014

Hello all. I am planning on spending 3 days/2 nights in the Wayne Nat'l Forest (Marietta District) beginning the day after Memorial Day (May 26th). My plan is to hike the Archers Fork Trail, the Scenic River Trail, the River Loop Trail and the Ohio View Trail over the course of the 3 days. I'm not certain of what the total mileage is but definitely in excess of 30 miles.

If anyone is interested in coming along for all or part of the trip you'd be quite welcome to join me. Be forewarned however that I am an early riser (4:30-5:00 am), I hike fast, I hike all day long, and I have difficulty moderating my pace. Other than that, I'm easy to get along with.

The trail was a little harder than I thought it would be. If it rains be prepared for it to be very muddy and slippery.

It was tougher than I was prepared for and the early spring weather didn't help

Thanks for the heads up. I have hiked these trails this time of year before, with the exception of the River Loop Trail, and I am aware of the potential for getting muddy. I don't mind mud. In fact I usually trudge right thru the first muddy spot I encounter just so I'm not trying to avoid getting muddy later on. I turned an ankle pretty bad once trying to cross a muddy section without getting muddy. Ended up very muddy and injured.
