Solution for visiting my in laws.

We are going to visit my wife's family this weekend and I always have a hard time sleeping there. Just asked my wife if I could just take my hammock and she can drop me off at the state park about 2 miles away. I will sleep better and get to do a bit of fishing and relax. After they all wake up in the morning they will pick me up for the family stuff.

Sounds like you 'need' a portable Turtle Dog Stand or the like! ...of course, the State Park is a great option.

Let's see...sleeping in the hammock AND avoiding in-laws for part of the trip? Seems like a win-win to me.

If it's about more than just not wanting to sleep on the ground, the state park sounds like a plan. If you'd like to be there, but still hammock, +1 to the Turtledog option.
