    Does netting color matter?

Getting ready to DIY a bug net and trying to decide on whether to use black or white material (I'm planning on using curtain sheers as my fabric). I would think black would be hotter, but I have heard that it's easier to see through and also wouldn't show dirt as badly.

I've seen people use both colors here and wondering what folks' experience is? Does it even make a difference?

It's easier to see out of a black net than it is out of a white net.

I have both colors and no big difference to me except the black one does seem hotter

My white bug net looks like I'm hanging in a wedding dress pulled out of the trash.

I do notice that white attracts bugs less than black. Moot point though, its a bug net.

I used some polyester mesh that was rescued from installation into an Airbus. There's a flying joke in there somewhere.

I just made a bugnet from olive nano see-um. It doesn't seem to close in on me so much as black.

Find some in a store and look through it, decide if you can tell the difference. White is too hard for me to see through and makes me a bit claustrophobic, so I went black. Tan was only slightly better than white and olive a bit better still, but I preferred the black.

Agree! I purchased both black and white a couple of years ago, thinking I might prefer white, but it was definitely a no-go. Somehow, the white seemed opaque while the black seemed see-through by comparison.

The lighter the color, the more it reflects light causing a flaring effect.
